Rising Killings of Women in Afghanistan: From Systematic Repression to Femicide

WJM organized an online discussion on the crisis of violence against women and the escalation from systematic repression to femicide. The discussion examined gender-based violence, forced marriage, arbitrary detention, suicide, honor killings and the dismantling of institutions that previously offered protection and access to justice.

Participants called for documentation, accountability, protection of women human rights defenders and stronger international action.
