The Women’s Justice Movement (WJM) is an independent human rights organization established following the Taliban’s return to power. It was formed in response to the widespread and systematic suppression of women’s rights, with the aim of defending women’s dignity, combating gender discrimination, and empowering women socially, economically, and politically.
About the movement
Through education, awareness-raising, advocacy, and international cooperation, WJM represents the voice of Afghan women inside and outside the country and works toward building a free, equal, and humane society.
WJM combines public advocacy, documentation, education and empowerment, humanitarian and psychosocial support, media and cultural work, economic initiatives, international networking, and security-conscious support for women human rights defenders.
Our vision
We envision a society where Afghan women and girls live in freedom and safety, with equal rights and opportunities.
